ADKDD'07, The First International Workshop on Data Mining and Audience Intelligence for Advertising, will provide a forum for researchers and practitioners from academia, industry, and the government to share their research and experience on advertising. The workshop will feature invited talks from noted experts in the field and the latest data mining research for advertising.

 

Papers on all aspects of data mining and audience intelligence for advertising are solicited. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Auction theory and design for advertising
  • Search intent discovery for advertising
  • Audience intelligence
  • Opinion/sentiment mining
  • Mining social networks and blogs
  • Behavioral targeting
  • Analysis for content-targeted advertising
  • Multimedia online advertisement
  • Spam detection in online advertisements
  • Techniques used for analysis (e.g. text mining techniques such as named entity extraction, query classification, keyword extraction, and other topics)
  • Web scale information extraction for online advertisement
  • Consumer privacy and data use policy
  • Privacy preserving data mining approaches
  • Tracking effectiveness of advertisement campaigns
 
Important Dates
  • May 25, 2007 June 8th 2007, 11.30pm PDT: Electronic submission of full papers NOTE: Extended deadline!
  • June 15, 2007: Author notification
  • June 19, 2007: Submission of Camera-ready papers
  • August 12, 2007: Workshop in San Jose, California, USA
Paper Submission

Papers should be no longer than 10 pages, including all references and figures. Papers should be submitted in ACM proceedings format (two columns, 9pt font, approximately one-inch margins). Please use the prescribed formatting guidelines of KDD (ACM Proceedings), which can be found at: http://www.acm.org/sigs/pubs/proceed/template.html.

 

All papers must be submitted in either Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF), which is preferred, or postscript. Please ensure that any special fonts used are included in the submitted documents. All papers must be original and must not have been published or under review elsewhere.

Publication

The initial Workshop papers will be published with the ACM SIGKDD 2007 conference CD and added to ACM Digital Library along with the main conference proceedings. 

We are also planning to invite the authors of accepted papers to submit a full (extended) version of their accepted papers to be published in a volume published by Springer-Verlag after a second round of reviews (to be confirmed).
